Anna Michalska will no longer serve as the spokeswoman of the Border Guard. TVN24 reporter Artur Molęda was the first to report this. This was later confirmed by Michalska herself. She has served since 2021. She became recognizable during the crisis on the Polish-Belarusian border.

Michalska has performed the duties of the spokeswoman of the SG Headquarters since 2021, i.e. the year in which migration crisis on the Polish-Belarusian border.

Michalska has been serving in the Border Guard since 2006 – until 2018 in the Bieszczady Border Guard unit, then at the main headquarters. Since 2007, she has worked in the formation’s press service.

TVN24 reporter Artur Molęda was the first to provide information that Michalska would cease to act as spokeswoman. He said that she had been dismissed from this position. He added that Michalska is currently employed as a lieutenant and is at the disposal of the Commander-in-Chief of the Border Guard, who will decide on her future in this formation.

Artur Molęda also learned that the spokesman’s duties will now be performed by 2nd Lt. Cmdr. Andrzej Juźwiak, who until now was the spokesman for the Maritime Unit of the Border Guard.

Last week, a new Chief Commander of the Border Guard was appointed. SG Brigadier General Robert Bagan replaced Maj. Gen. SG Tomasz Praga, who has headed the Border Guard since 2018

Anna Michalska became recognizable during the crisis on the Polish-Belarusian border. She became famous, among other things, for her statement from October 2021, when a TVN24 journalist asked her about migrant children who were staying in Michałów at the end of September of that year and were then sent to the border with Belarus. Even before answering, she said that it was “her favorite topic”.

Operation “Sluice” – a crisis caused by Lukashenko

Migration crisis on the borders of Belarus with Poland, Lithuania and Latvia was caused by Alexander Lukashenko, who is accused of waging a hybrid war. It involves the organized transfer of migrants to the territory of Poland, Lithuania and… Latvia. During over 28 years of his rule, Lukashenko has often threatened Europe with weakening border control.

The operation of bringing migrants to Belarus from the Middle East or Africa in order to cause a migration crisis was previously described on his blog by Tadeusz Giczan, a journalist from the Belarusian opposition channel Nexta. He explained that the Belarusian services are conducting the “Sluice” operation invented 10 years ago. Under the guise of trips to Minsk, promising to transfer them to Western Europe, the Lukashenko regime brought thousands of migrants to Belarus. Then he transports them to the borders of EU countries, where Belarusian services force them to cross them illegally. This operation is still ongoing.
