IMGW has issued weather warnings. Heat alarms are in effect in almost the entire country – in the west of the country, these are second-degree warnings. Check how long the heat will stay with us.

Forecasters from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMGW) have issued first and second degree meteorological warnings on a three-point, ascending scale.

IMWM warnings of the second degree – heat

Second degree alerts were issued for the following provinces:

  • West Pomeranianwith the exception of the following counties: Kamień County, SwinoujscieGryfice, Kołobrzeg, Sławno;
  • Pomeranianfor the following counties: Bytów, Człuchów, Chojnice;
  • Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeshipfor the following counties: Tuchola, Sępolno, Bydgoszcz, BydgoszczNakło, Żnin, Inowrocław, Mogilno;
  • lubuskie;
  • Greater Poland;
  • Lower Silesiawith the exception of the following counties: Lubań, Lwówek, Karkonosze, Jelenia GoraKamienna Góra, Wałbrzych, Kłodzko;
  • Opole;
  • Silesianin the districts of Tarnowskie Góry and Gliwice, Gliwice, Zabrze, Bytom, Chorzow, Katowice, TychyPszczyna, Jastrzębie-Zdrój, Wodzisław, Racibórz, Rybnik, RybnikMikołów.

During the day, the maximum temperature will be from 30 to 33 degrees, and at night from 17 to 19-20 degrees C. The warnings will expire at 7 p.m. on Thursday.

IMWM first degree warnings – heat:

First degree warnings apply in the following provinces:

  • Lower Silesianoutside the counties covered by higher level warnings, where they will be valid until Wednesday at 7 p.m.;
  • Warmia-Masuriain the western part. The alarms will be valid until 7 p.m. on Wednesday;
  • Pomeranianin the following counties: Kartuzy, Kościerzyna, Gdańsk, Starogard, Tczew, Kwidzyn, Sztum, Malbork, Nowy Dwór, where they will be valid until 7 p.m. on Wednesday;
  • Masovianexcept for the following counties: Siedlce, Sokołów Podlaski, Ostrów, Węgrów. The warnings will remain in force until 7 p.m. on Wednesday;
  • Lodz, where they will be valid until 7pm on Wednesday;
  • Silesianoutside the counties covered by higher level warnings (where they will be valid until 7 p.m. on Thursday)
  • Lesser Polandoutside the Nowy Targ and Tatra counties (where they will be valid until 7 p.m. on Thursday);
  • Subcarpathianoutside the Lubaczów district, where they will be valid until 7 p.m. on Thursday;
  • Lublinin the western counties, where they will be valid until 7 p.m. on Wednesday.

The maximum temperature during the day will be from 29 to 32 degrees.

What is the second degree IMWM meteorological warning?

Second degree warning predicts the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena causing large material losses and a threat to health and life. Dangerous phenomena or the effects of their occurrence significantly limit the conduct of business. Expect disruptions in everyday functioning. Great caution is recommended, the need to track messages and the development of the weather situation. Follow all recommendations issued by the rescue services in the event of a threat. Adjust your plans to the weather conditions.

What is the first-degree IMWM meteorological warning?

First-degree warning predicts conditions conducive to the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena that may cause material losses and threaten health and life. Conducting business in conditions of exposure to these factors is difficult and dangerous. Expect difficulties resulting from conducting activities in the area of ​​the threat, including delays caused by traffic disruptions, disruptions in the course of outdoor events or the possibility of their cancellation. Caution is recommended, the need to follow messages and the development of the weather situation.
