Anthony Anderson’s Mother Hilariously Scolds Him Throughout Emmys Monologue

The 2023 Emmys began off with a bang.

Host Anthony Anderson took the stage on the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles initially of the Jan. 15 award ceremony, poking enjoyable of his childhood crushes on The Information of Life characters as a part of his opening speech. Nonetheless, it was the comic’s mother Doris Hancox who stole the present, standing up from the group to heckle Anthony to “hurry up” together with his monologue. “Shut up!” she instructed the Black-ish star. “I wanna go to the after-parties.”

And when Anthony identified how she was presupposed to function the Emmys’ “play-off mama”—serving to inform winners to “wrap it up” when their acceptance speeches go over the allotted time—Doris had essentially the most mother response.

“Time’s up, child,” she hilariously snarked. “Wrap it up.”
