Zero VAT rate on food – deadline
Artur Soboń emphasized that “it is not that they are permanent”.
– They are, of course, temporary in nature (elements of anti-inflation shields – editor’s note). Some, like the zero VAT rate on food, will stay with us for longer, he said. When asked how long the zero VAT rate on certain food products would be maintained, Soboń pointed out that “it is not only my decision, but certainly until the end of this year”. The representative of the Ministry of Finance admitted that with the current, very high level of food prices, food constitutes 27% of the average shopping basket of a Polish family.
