The draft amendment to the media law with amendments was adopted by the parliamentary committee on culture and media. Among others, the amendment Kukiz’15 and Marek Suski (PiS) was adopted, while the amendment to the Agreement was rejected.
On Tuesday, the Sejm’s culture and media committee debated a draft amendment to the Broadcasting Act by PiS MPs, which directly affects the independence of TVN. After 3 p.m., the committee adopted the draft with the amendments incorporated at the meeting. 29 deputies voted, 16 were in favor, 12 – against, 1 abstained.
Earlier, requests for parliamentary amendments were considered. The Commission did not agree to the opposition’s requests to reject the bill at first reading.
The committee accepted the amendment by Kukiz’15. It excludes the possibility of purchasing private media by companies of the State Treasury. The amendment by Marek Suski (PiS) was also adopted. The amendment to the Agreement was rejected.
