Poland 2050 intends to present a draft law regarding, among other things, the issue of providing housing prices by developers, Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz, head of the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy, announced on Monday. In her opinion, “there is nothing more obvious” than stating the price of the offered product.
The Minister of Funds and Regional Policy was asked in a Radio ZET program about the obligation for developers to disclose apartment prices. In her opinion, entrepreneurs “should have such an obligation.” She announced that her group's parliamentary project, i.e. Poland 2050, will be ready within a few weeks, which is intended to ensure that “there are no privileged (…) players” on the housing market. – They (customers – editor's note) deserve information about the price, just like with any other product, it's obvious – she said. She added that this is an “obvious expectation of people” who want to buy apartments on “fair terms”. – It seems that there is nothing more obvious in market relations, that if there is a product, there is a price – she said.
This gives “developers an advantage over customers”
On Monday, the minister wrote on the “X” website that she received information that “hiding apartment prices by developers is a problem.” Developers – as she reported – claim that “everything works great and it doesn't bother anyone.” – Not showing apartment prices gives developers an advantage over customers – said Pełczyńska-Nałęcz.
In the video attached to the post, she said that she contacted 20 companies. – One quarter did not provide a price, saying that if I wanted to get this price, I had to either show up for a meeting or provide some additional information – said the minister.
She added that six provided prices, but did not indicate whether it was a gross or net price. – Several did not provide the full price at the beginning. It was only during the conversation that it turned out that there was an additional fee for the garage space, she said.
