The chairman of the Polish Bishops’ Conference, Archbishop Stanisław Gądecki, told journalists in Rome that “we all want to stay in Europe” and that “no reasonable person wants to get out of it”.
During the Monday meeting with journalists at the headquarters of Vatican Radio, on the first day of the visit of the second group of Polish bishops to the Vatican, Stanisław Gądecki emphasized that “good is associated with unity”.
As he noted, “a sad phenomenon” are the divisions in Europe and the building of walls, which are a symptom of “fear”.
During their ad limina Apostolorum visit, bishops visit the offices of the Holy See. On Friday, they will meet with Pope Francis. The second group was attended by ordinaries and auxiliary bishops from the Archdiocese of Gdańsk, Szczecin-Kamień, Poznań and Wrocław.
