At the weekend, work on the tracks, also at night

On Saturday and Sunday, April 12-13, Warsaw trams will conduct renovation works at the intersection of Aleja Niepodległości and Nowowiejska Street. This means changes in trams.

The works will consist in replacing two switches on the west side of the intersection of al. Niepodległości and Nowowiejska. Due to the works, trams will be suspended during Nowowiejska, Krzywicki and Filter – between the Nowowiejska stops and Narutowicza Square.

Line trams running 14 and 15 will be suspended. Trams will change 1 and 16 – so that they replace them 15 on part of its route. For this reason, line trams 1 In all courses they will go to the P+R al. Krakowska, a 16but only in selected courses (properly marked in timetables), ul. Mickiewicza to the Marymont-Potok loop.

A replacement bus line will be launched Z15. Buses will run between Narutowicza Square and the intersection of Nowowiejska Street with al. Independence – along the closed section of the track (i.e. filter, Krzywicki and Nowowiejska).

Tram renovation program

Renovation works will also be carried out at night and may be associated with additional noise. “Warsaw trams apologize to residents and passengers for difficulties,” said in a statement.

This year's plan of tram works in the capital includes 34 renovation tasks and repairs of nearly 10 km of single track. For this it is necessary to use the entire construction season – from March to October. If possible, closures are planned at times when there is less traffic (e.g. on weekends or on vacation).
