On the night from Wednesday to Thursday, drones attacked the Khanskaya military airport in Adygea, Russia, where multi-role Su-34 bombers and Su-27 fighters are stationed. The local authorities decided to evacuate all residents of the nearby town of Rodnikowo.

The Khanskaya military airport was attacked by drones on the night from Wednesday to Thursday. This was reported by Russian channels on Telegram, and the recordings showed smoke over nearby areas. The reports were later confirmed by the General Staff of the Ukrainian Army.

Murat Kumpilov, governor of the Republic of Adygea (in the European part Russia) reported that all residents of Rodnikowo had been evacuated. According to the TASS agency, over 1,300 people live there.

“The NASA fire monitoring system recorded a fire near the airport,” noted the Ukrainian website ZN. There were also reports on Russian Telegram channels that planes, including Su-34 multi-role bombers and Su-27 fighters, began to depart from the airport.

Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation, which reports to the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, said that as a result of the drone attack, a fuel warehouse located at the airport was destroyed. Kovalenko published a video intended to confirm these reports.

Sources in the Security Service of Ukraine told the Interfax-Ukraine agency that at the time of the attack, there were 57 combat and training planes and helicopters at the air base, including Su-34, Su-35 and Mi-8. For now, the Ukrainian side has not confirmed how many of these machines were destroyed or damaged.

Reports about the attack on the airport have not been officially confirmed by the Russian side. The Ministry of Defense in Moscow reported that on the night from Wednesday to Thursday, the defense team shot down over 90 drones in seven regions of the country, including 47 over the Krasnodar Krai. The airport is located approximately 80 km from Krasnodar.
