The Operational Command of the Armed Forces reported that no Polish soldier was injured in the rocket attack in Lebanon. It was reported that both UNIFIL PMC soldiers returned safely to base.
As reported by the media on Sunday, a missile attack in the southern Lebanon a vehicle belonging to the United Nations carrying a total of eight soldiers was damaged: six Irish and two Poles.
In reference to the information appearing in the media regarding the missile attack in the area where the Polish Military Contingent UNIFIL is stationed in Lebanon, the Operational Command of the Armed Forces informed on platform X that “none of the Polish soldiers taking part in the joint patrol were injured”. It was noted that “both soldiers of the UNIFIL Polish Military Contingent returned to base safely”.
“UN convoy narrowly avoided being hit”
DORSZ assured that “the security situation in the area where PKW UNIFIL is stationed is monitored continuously, and the applicable security measures are adapted to the current operational situation.”
According to Irish public broadcaster RTE, “a rocket attack occurred in southern Lebanon on Saturday evening, with a UN convoy narrowly avoiding being hit.”
