Attacks in Western Russia. Reports of explosions and fire at the refinery

As a result of a Ukrainian drone attack, a fire occurred at an oil refinery in the Russian city of Tuapse in the Krasnodar Krai in western Russia, local authorities reported. Earlier, Ukrainian media reported that there was an explosion in neighboring Novorossiysk on Friday night. As reported by Ukrainska Pravda, the port and oil depots were attacked with drones and missiles.

On Friday evening, two drones attacked an oil refinery in Tuapse. A fire broke out at the refinery, reports the Russian news agency TASS. The operational command of the Krasnodar Oblast reported that “the fire in the facility after the fall of the drones was under control.” There is no information about victims.

Explosions in Novorossiysk

At night there was also an attack on Novorossiysk, approximately 100 kilometers from Tuapse. In the morning, there were dozens of explosions and sirens of fire trucks and ambulances. An hour later, local residents counted 33 Ukrainian drones and over 35 explosions in the city, Ukrainska Pravda reports.

In the recording from the city, published by the Astra website, drones can be heard flying and Russian anti-aircraft defense is also active. People saw the rocket hit the port. The fuel terminal in Novorossiysk was attacked and a fire broke out, Astra reports.

The city authorities officially announced the “unsuccessful Ukrainian attack attempt” and the shooting down of 10 Ukrainian drones. Residents of Novorossiysk wrote on social media that there was no electricity in the port.

After the night attack on the city, the Novorossiysk administration banned residents from leaving their homes and informed parents that classes in schools and educational institutions were canceled.

Kyiv has not yet commented on these reports.
