A 34-year-old who was detained by police officers from Augustów (Podlaskie Voivodeship) is threatened with up to five years in prison. The findings show that the man put on work clothes of the company where he previously worked and went to the gas station, where he refueled. He took invoices, signing them with the name of the person authorized to refuel company vehicles.

Criminal investigators from Augustów detained a 34-year-old suspected of stealing fuel.

– The 34-year-old, in order not to arouse suspicion, put on work clothes of the company where he previously worked. Dressed like this, he drove to the gas station, where he refueled – informs in the message senior sergeant Kinga Muczyńska from the District Police Headquarters in Augustów.

The man then took the invoices, which he signed with the name of the person authorized to refuel the vehicles.

– In this way, he stole fuel for over PLN 22,000 – the policewoman points out.

According to the criminal investigation, the man later sold part of the stolen fuel.

A resident of the Augustów poviat is liable to imprisonment for up to five years.
