Auschwitz. The police arrested a father who abused his daughters

The police detained a 38-year-old resident of Oświęcim, suspected of abusing two daughters, aged 12 and 14. The man faces five years in prison.

As announced on Tuesday by the spokeswoman of the local district headquarters, Asst. pcs. Małgorzata Jurecka, on the night from Thursday to Friday, officers received an anonymous report about a domestic dispute.

“One of the patrols went to the indicated address. There they found an intoxicated 38-year-old man and his two daughters, against whom he used violence. He had over two per mille of alcohol in his body,” she reported.

The man was arrested. By court decision, the girls were placed in one of the care facilities.

“Proceedings have been initiated on suspicion of committing a crime of physical and mental abuse of children by a 38-year-old man. The penalty is up to five years in prison,” Jurecka said.

She emphasized that if you suspect that a child is being neglected or abused, you should contact a social worker, a teacher, a probation officer, and a district probation officer.

In urgent cases, you must intervene by calling the emergency number 112.
