The Austrian services, in cooperation with the policemen of the Polish CBŚP, seized over 150 pieces of firearms and over 10,000 pieces of ammunition in Austria as a result of several searches. Six people were detained. During the operation, emblems and flags with Nazi symbols and drugs were also seized, the Central Police Investigation Bureau reported in a statement.

“Recently, the Austrian services in cooperation with the police officers of the Board in Kielce CBSPcarried out activities in the area Austria, as a result of which people associated with an international motorcycle gang were detained. Some of the detainees are also associated with an extremist, neo-Nazi criminal organization operating in Austria, dealing, inter alia, in the trade of arms and ammunition, explosives and drugs.

Police officers from the Kielce Central Bureau of Investigation, monitoring the black market in firearms and ammunition in Poland, found information about an Austrian citizen who may illegally trade in weapons in the European Union. “Polish policemen started to act, closely cooperating with Austrian officers, to whom they provided information about places where weapons could be stored in Austria, including in Vienna,” it added.

“The Austrian services searched a total of 13 properties and detained an Austrian citizen selected by the CBŚP police officers, and seized over 150 firearms, including several dozen long guns, several dozen submachine guns, nearly a hundred semi-automatic pistols, over a thousand weapon components, nearly 400 signal weapons and over 10,000 rounds of ammunition, as well as grenade launchers and smoke grenades. Austrian officers also secured emblems and flags with Nazi symbolism, as well as 1 kg of cocaine and 5 kg of marijuana “- reported CBŚP.

“The findings of the investigation show that the man could trade arms and ammunition in many European Union countries and was a member of a well-known international motorcycle gang operating in many countries on several continents” – added.

The Austrians detained a total of six people who were temporarily arrested. “They will be accountable to the Austrian judiciary in accordance with local law,” the statement reads.
