A herd of cows was broken by a few tourists while walking on the Alpine path, near the Austrian town of Heiligenblut am Grossglockner. The animals were scared of their dog, which accompanied them while walking.
On Monday, a pair of Austrians went for a walk with a German shepherd along the Alpine path near the town of Heiligenblut am Grossglockner. At an altitude of 1590 meters above sea level, on a gravel road leading to the Leiterbach waterfall, tourists came across a cow grazing on a slope.
The animals suddenly headed towards the dog, and its owner released a leash, allowing the Shepherd to escape. The cows were bothering a 40-year-old man and his 44-year-old partner, hitting their heads and horns. When a car passed a nearby road, the animals escaped. Fortunately, the couple only suffered a slight injuries, and the dog that did not suffer was soon caught.
Not the first such incident. Appeal to tourists
Farmers point out that such situations are not rare in recent years. A year ago, a herd of enlightened animals stratified a 40-year-old woman and seriously wounded her two daughters. Also in this case, women walked in the mountains in the company of dogs.
Breeders explain that the most aggressive are cows taking care of young calves, which thus protect their offspring from wolf attacks. That is why farmers appeal to everyone who goes to the Alps to walk only on the designated trails during the trips, they keep their dogs on a leash and in no case approach the herds, where, apart from cows, calves graze.
