The average gross salary in the enterprise sector in March 2023 amounted to PLN 7,508.34, according to the Central Statistical Office (GUS). This represents an increase of 12.6 percent year-on-year. In turn, employment in this sector increased by 0.5 percent on an annual basis and amounted to just over 6.5 million FTEs.
The increase in the average wage was higher than economists’ forecasts – the PAP consensus assumed an increase of 12.3 percent. y/y On the other hand, employment growth in annual terms was lower than the consensus by 0.1 percentage point.
According to the Central Statistical Office, “compared to February 2023, the average monthly gross salary increased by 6.3 percent”, and “compared to the previous month, the average employment decreased by 0.1 percent”.
