Minister of National Defense Mariusz Błaszczak announced that he would award prizes to soldiers who guard the border in the vicinity of Usnarz Górny in Podlasie. “Thank you for your service and for being professional,” he wrote.
A group of migrants has been living in Usnarz Górny on the Polish-Belarusian border for several days. These people are not allowed into Poland, the border is secured by the Border Guard and soldiers. Migrants do not want to return to Belarus. According to the information from the Border Guard on Monday, the group currently consists of 24 people.
Błaszczak: I have decided to award prizes
Błaszczak informed about the awards for soldiers on Twitter. “I have decided to award prizes to soldiers who guard the borders in the vicinity of Usnarz Górny in Podlasie,” he wrote. “Thank you for your service and for maintaining professionalism in every, even the most difficult situation” – emphasized the head of the Ministry of National Defense.
Poland and all the Baltic states – Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia accuse Belarus of organizing the transfer of immigrants to its territory under the so-called hybrid war. In a joint statement by the Prime Ministers of Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia stated that the current crisis on the borders with Belarus was planned and systematically organized by the regime of Alyaksandr Lukashenka. They also called on the Belarusian authorities to stop actions leading to escalating tensions.
On Monday afternoon, the head of the Ministry of National Defense, Mariusz Błaszczak, announced that it would start this week construction of a fence on the Polish-Belarusian border.
