Four firefighters of the Volunteer Fire Brigade from Janowice Duze (Lower Silesia Province) were injured in an accident in Babin. The car they were traveling in went off the road and hit a tree. According to the police, firefighters tried to avoid a collision with a car traveling in the opposite direction in the middle of the road.
The incident took place on Saturday (February 25) after 11 am in front of the village of Babin in the Legnica poviat. According to the duty officer of the Municipal Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Legnica, a fire brigade from Janowice Duze was going to the fire of a truck semi-trailer on the A4 highway. While on their way to the scene, the volunteer firefighter’s car veered off the road and hit a roadside tree.

“Preliminary investigations of the police show that a car traveling from the opposite direction was moving in the middle of the road. Firefighters, trying to avoid a collision with the vehicle, swerved to the side and grabbed the shoulder. Their car overturned, fell into a ditch and hit a tree – said junior aspirant Anna Tersa, press officer of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Legnica.
Four firefighters injured
Four volunteer firefighters were injured in the accident. They were all transported to the hospital. The police officer said they were not seriously injured.
The circumstances of the accident are being clarified by the police.
