Explosion in a single-family house in Babsk, Łódź Voivodeship. Inside there was a couple aged 87 and 93. They survived and are in hospital, but their house was seriously damaged.
The explosion occurred on Sunday around 12:20 p.m. in the town of Babsk in Rawa County, Łódź Voivodeship.
As Tomasz Krupiński, spokesman for the State Fire Service in Rawa Mazowiecka, told us, a propane-butane gas cylinder exploded.
– There was an elderly couple in the house, 87 and 93 years old – he says. – They managed to evacuate before our arrival, on their own with the help of a neighbor – he adds.
The couple was transported to the hospital. It is not known whether they will have a place to return to. – There is extensive damage to the building, one wall, probably a load-bearing one, was damaged – says Krupiński.

2 teams of firefighters from JRG Rawa Mazowiecka, 2 teams from KSRG Volunteer Fire Department Biała Rawska, a team from Volunteer Fire Department Kurzeszyn, a team from Volunteer Fire Department Babsk and 2 medical rescue teams and the police worked on site.
