Two men, who were kayaking on the Oder river behind the Bajkał pool near Wrocław (Lower Silesian Voivodeship) on Saturday evening, caught on the fishing lines and fell into the water. One of them died despite resuscitation.

The services received a report about the incident on Saturday around 7 p.m. On the Odra river behind the Bajkał pool near Wrocław, two people who were kayaking capsized.

“Both of them were conscious, after a while one of the men turned blue when he tried to get into the kayak. He was pulled ashore by witnesses. Resuscitation was started” – informed the Lower Silesian Volunteer Water Rescue Service.

Despite resuscitation, one of the canoeists died

Two teams of WOPR rescuers were dispatched to the site. Despite the efforts of rescuers, who alternated with other services, performed resuscitation, around 8:30 p.m., the doctor declared the death of a 60-year-old man.

“The kayakers capsized through the lines of the anglers on the shore, who later helped pull the victim out of the water. The man who fell out of the kayak probably had a panic attack” – indicates WOPR.
