The Inspectorate emphasized that the product from the batch covered by the notification should not be consumed. Consuming food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, especially without proper heat treatment, can lead to a disease called listeriosis.
Information on the symptoms associated with Listeria monocytogenes infection is available on the website https://www.gov.pl/web/gis/listerioza.
If symptoms of food poisoning occur after consuming this product, contact a doctor, GIS said.
The manufacturer's plant has initiated a procedure to withdraw the disputed product from the market.
The Veterinary Inspection authorities conduct explanatory proceedings at the manufacturer, and the State Sanitary Inspection authorities supervise the recall process at the recipients.
