Due to difficult weather conditions PKP Intercity suspended train traffic on the Jelenia Góra-Szklarska Poręba Górna and Prudnik-Nysa sections. “Śnieżka” trains from Warsaw to Szklarska Poręba will only run to and from Jelenia Góra. On the cancelled section, substitute bus transport was organised.
PKP trains delayed due to bad weather
In turn, the “Sudety” and “Szczeliniec” trains will not run on the Prudnik-Nysa section. Cracow-Jelenia Góra. Buses will also run on this closed section instead of the railway.
“Technical services PKP are working to restore train traffic,” PKP wrote on social media. The announcement included photos showing trees and branches falling on the tracks. “The services on duty are constantly monitoring the weather situation on the entire rail network in Poland,” it assured.
Due to a failure of the traction network, there was also a break in train traffic on the Tarnobrzeg – Ocice section. The Intercity train “Zamoyski” of the route Rzeszow Główny – Szczecinek was directed by a roundabout route, bypassing the stations of Rzeszów Zachodni, Kolbuszowa, Nowa Dęba, Tarnobrzeg. Its delay is already 55 minutes. On the other hand, on the section Rzeszów Zachodni – Stalowa Wola Charzewice, replacement bus transport was organized.
Travelers have the right to make a complaint
“We apologize for the inconvenience” – PKP says in the issued announcements. At the same time, it reminds its passengers that they have the right to file a complaint regarding the comfort of the journey. This can be done:
- via the complaint form available on the website
- in person at any PKP Intercity ticket office,
- by post to the following address: PKP Intercity SA Company Headquarters, Al. Jerozolimskie 142 A, 02-305 Warsaw.
It is not only the Polish PKP that has not been able to cope with the terrible weather conditions. The weather is also complicating the situation on the Czech railways. Trains are not running on about ten sections there.
