In connection with the May weekend, which is considered the symbolic beginning of the barbecue season, firefighters explain what the regulations mean and warn that roasting sausages on balconies can be very dangerous.

– The fire regulations do not contain a provision regarding the explicit prohibition of using the grill on balconies and terraces of buildings. Let us remember, however, that lighting a barbecue in such places poses a real fire hazard both in the immediate vicinity and in neighboring premises – said brig. Marcin Betleja, spokesman for the Podkarpacie fire brigade.

He added that “local law, defined, for example, by administrators of housing communities, may prohibit barbecuing on balconies and terraces due to the nuisance for neighbors.”
