This is a warning to absolutely everyone who is in the government or holds other positions on behalf of the Left in this or that institution – said Tomasz Trela, deputy chairman of the Left club, in “Fakty po Faktach”. He referred to the resignation of Bartłomiej Ciążyński from the position of deputy minister of justice. PSL MEP Adam Jarubas said that “it is clear that many people cannot stand this surge of energy, glory, when they get some official position”.

Bartłomiej Ciążyński, a politician of the Left, he resigned from the position of deputy minister of justice on Wednesday. On Wednesday, Wirtualna Polska revealed that he had gone on vacation in a company car, filling up with public money. – I made a mistake, I was not aware, I did not know that I could not do that. It is a mistake for which I must take responsibility – said Ciążyński at a press conference. – I have returned the funds that I used to fill up. From the bottom of my heart, very sincerely, I apologize for the situation. I am sorry that this happened – he added.

Prime minister Donald Tusk accepted the resignation. The case was taken up by the prosecutor's office, which initiated an investigation.

Trela: Anyone who abuses allowances will be treated as such

The guests of “Fakty po Faktach” on TVN24 commented on the matter.

– The decision was lightning fast. Today, Mr. Ciążyński, a former deputy minister, resigned, because that was the right thing to do in such a situation. We are showing that the standards in the Left are definitely higher than those of those who ruled for eight years – said the deputy chairman of the Left club, Tomasz Trela.

He added that “absolutely anyone who abuses power, a company car or other allowances that are assigned to a given position, which is paid for with taxpayers' money, will be treated as such and will have to make such decisions.”

– This is a warning to absolutely everyone who is in the government or holds other positions on behalf of the Left in this or that institution – he stressed.

He expressed hope that “after this event, such decisions will no longer have to be made, because it simply should not have happened.”

Jarubas: many people can't stand the glory and try to grab it

MEP PSL Adam Jarubas said that “it is clear that many people cannot stand the, let's say, surge of energy, glory, when they get a job, and they try to grab hold of it and take advantage of various allowances and fruits.”

He assessed that “this is a very difficult situation for the Left, but kudos for this quick reaction”. – Unfortunately, only after a journalistic investigation and probably such a coming of awareness that this matter will be explained anyway, it will be even more troublesome for the minister and for the community”.

He noted that “this is actually a warning to others.”

– I myself, when I was a marshal for 12 years, had an offer to have a credit card and pay my bills with that card during my visits abroad, but I didn't want it. You can simply settle your expenses by paying in advance, even if necessary, with your own money, and that's probably safer – said Jarubas.

– Using instruments such as service cards requires great prudence. Unfortunately, the minister lacked this prudence here – he assessed.
