If you don't want me in the PiS leadership so much, then say it publicly, and don't run around anonymously whispering to journalists – wrote Beata Szydło on platform X. She referred to media publications according to which she may lose her position as vice-president of Law and Justice. PiS spokesman Rafał Bochenek commented on the matter on Monday evening.
On Monday, “Rzeczpospolita” reported that Law and Justice is preparing for the presidential election. There is to be a reorganization, as a result of which the current vice-presidents: Beata Szydło and Antoni Macierewicz, may lose their positions.
Last week, Wirtualna Polska wrote that for the party's chairman Jaroslaw Kaczynski it is unacceptable that out of six PiS vice-presidents, three are MEPs and work in Brussels and Strasbourg – this group includes Joachim Brudziński, Mariusz Kaminski and Beata Szydlo.
Szydło spoke out
“If you don't want me in the PiS leadership so much, then say it publicly, and don't run around anonymously whispering to journalists. Courage, gentlemen!” Szydło wrote on Monday on Platform X, referring to the reports.
As reported by the WP portal, Kaczyński, after the announcement of the unofficial results of the European Parliament elections, told his colleagues at Nowogrodzka that the party requires changes and reorganization.
“The party – as we hear – must undergo changes. Perhaps not fundamental ones for now, but significant ones, assuming a generational airing out of structures and the replacement (or at least expansion) of part of the leadership,” it was written.
Dworczyk: There are no announced elections in Law and Justice
The PiS MEP commented on the matter in a conversation with TVN24 reporter Agata Adamek. Michal Dworczyk. – Prime Minister Beata Szydło has extensive experience in politics and administration and will always be identified with the first government formed by Law and Justice in 2015 – he said.
Dworczyk said he had not heard of Szydło's post before. – As I understand it, it's about some kind of exchange of opinions on Twitter (X – ed.). I think that if emotions are involved, it's better to have such conversations face to face – said Dworczyk.
Asked if he thought Szydło should become the party's vice-president, Dworczyk said that “Law and Justice has its statutory authorities”. – As far as I know, nothing has changed and these authorities are in the same composition. Therefore, I do not fully understand where this question comes from – he replied. He added that “there are no announced elections in Law and Justice”.
Moskal: Beata Szydło is a very distinguished person
– Prime Minister Beata Szydło is a person of great merit, firstly – for Poland, secondly – for our camp – PiS MP Michał Moskal declared on Monday at a press conference in the Sejm. – What has happened since 2015, when we took power, is a legacy to which Law and Justice will certainly refer for at least several decades of its activity – he added.
He noted that PiS is a “mass organization”. – In such organizations, firstly, different views clash, secondly, different ambitions clash, thirdly, different discussions take place. I would really like such discussions to remain in the family and this would of course be much better for us as a camp. I understand that sometimes emotions do not allow us to keep it all to ourselves or to keep it in a closed group. This is certainly unnecessary for us as a camp – said Moskal. He added that he would like Szydło to continue to serve as vice-president of the party.
PiS spokesman: the strength of our party is unity and cooperation
PiS spokesman Rafał Bochenek also commented on the matter on Monday evening. He wrote that media reports on the matter are false.
“In connection with the media revelations, on behalf of the PiS leadership I would like to point out that no one has ever raised the issue of removing Prime Minister Beata Szydło and Minister Antoni Macierewicz from their positions as party vice-presidents,” Bochenek wrote on Platform X.
“All media publications on this matter are untrue and are intended to once again attack PiS and the integrity of our political environment. The strength of our party is unity and cooperation, because only in this way can we win the battle for Poland and protect our homeland from economic and political degradation,” we read in the entry.
Hoe: The bulldog fight has moved to the carpet
Miłosz Motyka also commented on the matter in an interview with a TVN24 reporter. PSL. – For months, and years in fact, since 2017, we have had a bulldog fight under the carpet when it comes to Law and Justice, a fight for the legacy of Jarosław Kaczyński, between the camp of, among others, Beata Szydło and Mateusz Morawiecki. Today we see that this fight has already moved to the carpet – assessed Motyka.
According to him, Szydło “clearly declares with such posts that this fight is already on the knives”. – She could have settled this with Prime Minister Morawiecki privately or with Chairman Kaczyński. As you can see, even Chairman Kaczyński does not want to talk to her if Prime Minister Szydło has to send such tweets. She would not have to do this if the conversation with Chairman Kaczyński was open – said the politician.
He pointed out that “Szydło does not show up with chairman Kaczyński, she does not show up among the party leadership, she is not listened to, she is blamed for a number of failures of this party, including those in Małopolska”. – As you can see, she is clearly being pushed out of the party – he added.
Zgorzelski: in PiS it is like this, if someone does not like it, then the forums are out of court, no one will cry
Deputy Speaker of the Sejm Piotr Zgorzelski (PSL, Trzecia droga) said that “in Poland, parties have their leaders, with the exception of PiS”.
– (In PiS – ed.) the leader has his party and all political activities are subordinate to him, the statute and interpersonal activities are subordinate to him. If someone doesn't like it, then there will be forums from the court, no one will cry, Law and Justice will exist without Beata Szydło, just as it existed before Beata Szydło – he said.
