Beating recorded by phone, four people detained

The 20-year-old suffered extensive facial injuries. He explained that he was attacked twice by several people he knew. The police arrested four young men aged 16 to 21.

– Gorzów police officers were informed about the beating on Thursday, March 9, around 7 pm. They went to the victim, who described the event that was supposed to take place around 6 pm. The 20-year-old had visible extensive facial injuries. As he reported, several people he knew attacked him. This happened twice in quick succession. After being beaten near the Lubuski Bridge, they escaped, informs Commissioner Grzegorz Jaroszewicz, press officer of the municipal police commander in Gorzów Wielkopolski, in a communiqué.

Four detainees

The search for the suspects has begun. On Nadbrzeżna Street, the police noticed two people who could be related to this incident. An 18-year-old and a 21-year-old were arrested.

– From the information collected, it appeared that these were not all participants of the incident. Police officers continued their activities in the city, which led to the arrest of two more people, a 16-year-old and an 18-year-old – adds Commissioner Grzegorz Jaroszewicz.

The beating was recorded

All of them were transported to the Gorzów police station. In the case conducted under the supervision of the Gorzów district prosecutor’s office, it was established that the beating was recorded by telephone. The video shows how the victim was brutally attacked. The attackers hit him all over his body and he was also kicked in the head. The material was secured as evidence in the proceedings.

The youngest in the shelter, the others in custody

In the case of the detained 16-year-old, the family court decided to place him in a juvenile shelter for three months.

In the case of two 18-year-olds and a 21-year-old, the prosecutor, after collecting the necessary evidence, applied for pre-trial detention. On Saturday (March 11), the court decided that they would spend the next three months behind bars.
