The police have detained four people in connection with the fatal beating of a 62-year-old man, which took place in a flat in Będzin. Three people have been arrested. The 42-year-old repeat offender could face up to life in prison.
At the end of July, police were called to an apartment in the center of Będzin, where the body of a man was found. As officers determined, it was 62-year-old Krzysztof B. In a conversation with the reporting person, the police determined that the man had been living with him before his death, and that he had sustained injuries after his last party.
“The version of events presented by the 63-year-old reporting person was very inconsistent and there were many indications that the man was hiding something,” the Będzin police department said on Wednesday.

Detectives obtained access to surveillance footage and determined that there were more people in the apartment where the 62-year-old was found – the owner of the premises Jarosław P., 42-year-old Rafał G. and 41-year-old Beata K. from Dąbrowa Górnicza.
There are charges in the fatal assault case
Both were charged by the prosecutor with failing to provide assistance to the 62-year-old. The woman was additionally charged with obstructing an investigation, and the 63-year-old with possession of drugs. The District Court in Będzin imposed temporary arrest on them.
At the same time, the police were tracking down the 42-year-old who, as it turned out, was the perpetrator of the fatal assault. The man was detained by Katowice police in Świętochłowice. A 25-year-old who helped him hide was also detained.
The main suspect could face life in prison.
Rafał G., who acted in recidivism, was arrested for three months. He faces up to life in prison. According to the prosecutor's statement, he struck the victim numerous times with his fists, including in the head. The resulting injuries resulted in severe bodily injuries and then the death of the beaten man.
Beata K. faces up to 8 years in prison, and Jarosław P. up to 6 years. The 25-year-old, who also heard the charge of helping the perpetrator avoid criminal liability, was placed under police supervision.
