The message about the violation of Polish space by Belarusian helicopters appeared “definitely too late”. It should take a few to several minutes and the announcement should be issued – said Brigadier General Doctor Jarosław Kraszewski on TVN24. He added that “the entire communication chain may need to be reorganized.”
On Tuesday, Polish airspace was violated by two Belarusian helicopters, it said Ministry of National Defence. Head of the ministry Mariusz Blaszczak ordered to increase the number of soldiers on the border and allocate additional forces and resources, including combat helicopters.
Kraszewski: a few or several minutes and the announcement should be issued
On Thursday, this situation was commented on in “One on One” on TVN24 by Brigadier General Dr. Jarosław Kraszewski, former head of the Department of Supervision over the Armed Forces in the National Security Bureau.
As he said, “there have been and will be such incidents, unfortunately, especially now, when there is a war going on beyond our eastern border.” – The Russian side, interacting with Belarus, in my opinion, is getting ready to make an auxiliary strike from the direction of Belarus. Therefore, the march of Prigozhin and the Wagnerians to Moscow was only an operational cover to regroup, actually lead the Wagner group out of Bakhmut, regroup it to Belarus, he added.
Therefore, says Kraszewski, “such provocative actions will be something that will disturb our peace.”
In his opinion, the announcement of this incident came “way too late”. – It should take a few to several minutes and the announcement should be issued – he said.
Kraszewski: perhaps the entire communication chain needs to be reorganized
– I also agree with the thesis, because it is not a statement that at the moment there is a break in these communication links – it is called STRATCOM in our military language – between the most important commanders, especially the operational command, the chief of the general staff and the minister of national defense – he said general.
He added that “maybe we need to reorganize this whole STRATCOM chain and algorithm in the armed forces.” – Maybe it is necessary to give a little more freedom to the operational commander and the chief of the general staff, because they are the first link. They are not in these positions to alienate them from such situations, stressed Kraszewski.
– If I were the head of the armed forces, I would lock both the Minister of National Defense and the main commanders (in one room – ed.) and tell them that until they reach an agreement, they will not set up an algorithm, set procedures and practice them to the level of perfection, i.e. the level where the exchange goes immediately, they will not leave from there – he said.
