Benedict Cumberbatch, his wife Sophie Hunter and their three children were attacked by 35-year-old Jack Bissell, a former chef, at their home in London, British media reported. The man pleaded guilty to the attack in court. He was fined and given a three-year restraining order from the actor’s family.

According to the prosecutor’s office, before the attack, Bissell informed the seller of a nearby store where he had shopped that he intended to attack and burn down the house of the Sherlock Holmes character in the popular series. – I know you moved here, I hope that (your house – ed.) will burn down – he shouted after entering the garden of the Cumberbatch family. His words at the time were quoted during a hearing at the Crown Court in London’s Wood Green.

Then the former chef tore out one of the plants planted in front of the house and threw it against the wall of the building. He then spat on the intercom, destroyed it with a fish fillet knife and fled.

The exact date of the attack is unknown. According to British media, the man was tracked down by the police thanks to DNA samples secured on the intercom he spit on. This month, at a hearing at Wood Green Crown Court, he pleaded guilty to the charges. On May 10, he was fined £250 (equivalent to over PLN 1,300). He was also banned from contacting members of Benedict Cumberbatch’s family and their property for three years.

Jack Bissell’s motives are unknown. However, this is not the first time he has broken the law. In the past, the man had been convicted of theft and had been warned three times for property damage, public nuisance and drug offences.
