Niewa received a prize for special merits for the development of Polish-German relations. The ceremony took place on Wednesday as part of the Polish-German forum at the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Berlin.
The reaction of the Polish embassy
The Polish embassy in Berlin issued a message in connection with the words of infidel.
“The facility informs that the statements of your infidel were exclusively private,” it was written in a statement.

“Your nonsense appeared against the background of the Eagle of the White and the Polish flag, in the Embassy of the Republic of Poland, in the presence of the Polish minister and diplomats, directing slander to the newly elected President of the Republic of Poland in the democratic election process. This cannot be justified by any laconic message” – he added.
Elwira Niewiera is a screenwriter and director, co -author of documentary films awarded at festivals in Poland and abroad. One of them, “Hamlet Syndrome” from 2022 is a co-production with German television and talks about the “Maidan generation”, young Ukrainians and their experiences of revolution and war in 2013-2014. After the outbreak of Russia's war and Ukraine, she founded an association with German partners, which cooperates with the therapeutic center in the Carpathians, offering help to Ukrainian women hurt during the war.
