A 37-year-old resident of the Konstantynów commune reported to the police that he found a bundle of banknotes in the parking lot of one of the supermarkets in Biała Podlaska. After a while he called the officers again. And he said the owner of the cash was found. – During the conversation with the uniformed officers, the applicant stated that while walking to his car, he noticed cash lying in the parking lot. He did not count her, but immediately decided to call the emergency number. After a while, he noticed a man who was walking around the parking lot, clearly looking for something. It was the owner of the money who confirmed what sum he had lost. It was 10,000 zlotys – said Commissioner Barbara Salczyńska-Pyrchla from the County Police Headquarters in Biała Podlaska.

The policemen appeared on the spot. And it was in their presence that the cash returned to the owner.

A similar event took place in Włodawa. A woman came to the local police who found a case with documents and money on the sidewalk. – The person on duty took the found items and less than half an hour later he received a phone call from their owner, who called the headquarters, informing about the loss. The man on duty calmed down the inhabitant of Warsaw, informing the man that the lost items were brought by an honest inhabitant of Włodawa, thanks to whom he quickly regained them – informed staff sergeant Elwira Tadyniewicz from the County Police Headquarters in Włodawa. By the way, the policemen remind that the found money and items have an owner, and failure to return the found item is a crime known as misappropriation, which is subject to criminal liability.
