A skier fainted on the slope in Białka Tatrzańska (Lesser Poland Voivodeship). He was helped by the rescuers of the Tatra Volunteer Rescue Service who patrolled the area. The man was airlifted to the hospital.

According to local media, the man had heart problems and required resuscitation. Rescuers managed to bring him back to life. Information about the event is confirmed by the TOPR duty officer – as he emphasizes, however, the report was not handled by the headquarters, so the exact circumstances of the skier’s collapse are unknown.

– Rescuers asked for a helicopter, because it was a life-threatening situation. The tourist was transported to a hospital in Nowy Targ, the duty officer said.

“Gazeta Krakowska” reports that one of the lifts was immobilized during the rescue operation.
