The court has decided to arrest for three months a 45-year-old man who has been charged with the murder of his son in a hotel in Biały Dunajec (Małopolska). An autopsy of the child's body will be performed today. Investigators are not disclosing information about the circumstances of the crime.
On Friday (23 August), the court decided to temporarily arrest the 45-year-old for three months. The man will also undergo a psychiatric examination to check whether he was sane at the time of committing the act.
Father charged with murder
The father of the 14-year-old was escorted to the prosecutor's office for questioning on Thursday (22nd August) at 1 pm, accompanied by the police. The proceedings lasted about two hours. Just before 4 pm, the District Prosecutor's Office in Nowy Sącz announced that the 45-year-old had been charged with murder. The suspect did not comment on this charge.
An autopsy of the 14-year-old has also been ordered. It will take place today (Friday, August 23) at the Forensic Medicine Institute in Krakow.
According to information provided to TVN24 by the father of the owner of the boarding house where the boy's body was found, the child's throat was cut and the murder was supposed to have taken place several hours before the body was found. The boy was lying in bed, covered with a blanket.

As Sub-Inspector Katarzyna Cisło, spokeswoman for the Provincial Police Headquarters in Kraków, informed us, the police received a report about finding the teenager's body on Wednesday (21 August) at around 7:30 a.m. The services were informed about the incident by the hotel staff.
Initially, investigators reported that a relative of the boy had been detained in the case – a 45-year-old man. We managed to establish that he is the father of the 14-year-old, which was confirmed on Thursday in an interview with tvn24.pl by prosecutor Justyna Rataj-Mykietyn.
The man was sober at the time of his arrest. A blood sample was also taken from him to test for the presence of other psychoactive substances.

The family is from the Mazovian province. They had been coming to Biały Dunajec in previous years. A man with three children – boys aged 14, 7 and 4 – checked into the hotel the day before the tragedy. Two children are under the care of social workers, and they have been provided with psychological help.
The boys' mother died six months ago from cancer.
