Bialystok. A train going to Warsaw has derailed, there are difficulties

On Thursday, a train from Białystok to Warsaw derailed. The incident happened just after leaving the Białystok railway station. There were about 150 people on the train. Nobody was injured. There are traffic jams.

The derailment occurred shortly after the train left the station, about 200 meters after the Fieldorfa Nil tunnel. The cause of the accident is not yet known, it will be determined, among others. a specially appointed committee.

Tomasz Łotowski from the PKP PLK press office told PAP that about 150 people traveled to Warsaw by train; According to him, all of them were taken by substitute transport prepared by PKP Intercity and should reach the capital by bus.

The movement of other trains not only towards Warsaw, but also Ełk and Bielsk Podlaski is suspended.

– The train derailed on three axles, nothing happened. The train is standing on the tracks, it will be “rerailed” by a special rescue train. It will probably take several hours, how long it is difficult to estimate at the moment – added Łotowski.

He informed that for the time being it is not known what solutions the carriers will adopt, ie whether there will be substitute transport and in what form.
