Due to a failure in the traction network on the Baciuty-Łapy section (Podlaskie Voivodeship), there have been difficulties in train traffic since early Monday morning, including: from Białystok to Warsaw. Difficulties may last until noon.
“Due to this failure, there were changes in train traffic, carriers were recommended to introduce replacement bus transport,” Tomasz Łotowski from the press team told PAP PKP PLK. PKP Intercity trains will start from Białystok with a diesel locomotive and only in Łapy will it be replaced with an electric one.
Delays from half to an hour and a half
PKP Intercity announced in a statement on its website that expected train delays range from 30 to 90 minutes. “On the Małkinia – Warszawa Wileńska/Warszawa Wschodnia section, mutual acceptance of tickets of PKP Intercity and Koleje Mazowieckie has been agreed. Please pay attention to voice messages,” the company said.
Difficulties may last until noon
Łotowski pointed out that – due to the failure – the courses may be delayed at the start. PKP PLK estimates that such difficulties may last until noon on Monday.
