City: the procedure prohibits placing posters on poles between roads
The president’s spokeswoman, Urszula Boublej, told TVN24 that the procedure for placing election posters in public spaces is thoroughly described in the Public Information Bulletin.
– This is especially true when it comes to posters placed in the road. That is, in the part where drivers move. We must ensure their safety. The procedure clearly states that, among others: Election advertisements cannot be hung on lighting poles in road lanes, she said.
City authorities about breaking procedures and creating a threat
She added that over the weekend, posters of one of the candidates began to appear on lighting poles in road lanes. – Apart from the fact that it was inconsistent with the rules for placing election advertisements, the posters created a risk in road traffic because in many cases they covered the signs – she emphasized.
The spokesman for the Białystok city guard, Krzysztof Tyszka, says in an interview with the tvn24.pl portal that the posters were temporarily seized by the guards during the election process, and the case was referred to the offenses department.
– Actions are ongoing. We will probably apply to the court to punish the people who put up these posters. Such an act is punishable by a fine, he adds.
