After several minutes of pursuit of the streets of Białystok, the police detained a 57-year-old who was running because he thought he was drunk. In December he lost his driving license. He will be responsible for breaking the prohibition and not keeping up to road control.

Policemen patrolled the city when they noticed a Mercedes driver on one of the streets of Białystok, whom they detained in December for driving under the influence of alcohol. The man lost his driving license at the time, and yet he got behind the wheel again.

“The uniforms gave him orders to stop. The man sitting behind the wheel ignored them and began to run away. The policemen followed him in the streets of the city” – we read in a message on the website of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Bialystok.

Another patrol arrived in his way

Uniforms inform that the driver performed very dangerous maneuvers while escaping.

“He entered the intersection several times in a red light and did not follow the” stop “sign. After a dozen or so minutes, the pursuit interrupted another patrol that arrived the Mercedes driver's path,” says the message.

A few hours earlier, he drank wine

The 57-year-old Białystok residents told the police that he thought he was intoxicated because he drank wine a few hours earlier. After examining the man to the alcohol content, it turned out that he was sober.

He was detained and heard the allegation of not stopping for roadside control. He faces up to five years imprisonment. The man will also be responsible for the offenses committed.
