On Wednesday, before 5.00 p.m., Białystok policemen chased the Opel, which did not stop for inspection on the Dąbrowski Viaduct. The driver did not react to the light and sound signals. It only stopped on Batalionów Chłopskich Street, and this only because it did not brake and hit an oncoming police car.
There was a smell of alcohol from the driver
– There was a smell of alcohol from the 28-year-old driver of the Opel. As he refused to undergo a breathalyzer test, blood was taken for him for testing. We are waiting for the results – says candidate Katarzyna Molska-Zarzecka from the Municipal Police Headquarters in Białystok.
He adds that a passenger two years younger also did not want to undergo a breathalyzer test. – The driver has been released. Failure to stop the inspection is punishable by up to five years’ imprisonment. If it turns out that he was driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, he will also answer for it – emphasizes the policewoman.
