Donald Trump poses a “real threat” to the United States, President Joe Biden said Sunday in a CBS interview, his first since dropping out of the race for a second term, vowing to do everything he can to ensure Vice President Kamala Harris succeeds.
“We are at a turning point. We really are (…), and democracy is a key part of that,” Biden said in an interview taped a few days earlier at the White House.
“I can barely tell how old I am”
Returning to my debate with Donald Trump On June 27, on CNN, he added: “I really, really had a bad day during this debate because I was sick, but I don't have a serious health problem,” he told a CBS reporter who asked him about his health.
Biden admitted that his age played a significant role in his decision to drop out of the campaign to make way for Kamala Harris, 59. “I can barely tell you how old I am (…) it’s hard for me to get it out of my mouth,” he said.
Goal: Defeat Trump
The president also explained that Democrats in Congress had expressed serious concerns about their reelection chances during the midterm elections, which will also be held on Nov. 5. “A lot of my Democratic colleagues in the House and Senate thought I would hurt them,” he said.
– I have a duty to the country to do what is most important: we must, we must defeat Trump – he emphasized, promising to participate in the campaign of Harris and her vice presidential candidate Tim Walz. The new information published on Saturday polls indicate that Harris is winning against Trump in three key states that could decide the outcome of the election, reversing the trend of recent months.
