Biedronka – a special award for employees of the Biedronka chain for 2022. Height is given

Biedronka announced that in April it will pay employees a special bonus in the amount of PLN 3,750 gross. This is the highest prize value in the history of Biedronka. Earlier, the Lidl, Kaufland and Aldi chains informed about the increase in employees’ salaries.

The press office of the Biedronka chain announced in a Tuesday communiqué that almost 60 thousand employees of the Biedronka chain will receive a special prize for 2022 in the amount of PLN 3,750 gross in April. It was pointed out that the prize is higher by PLN 950 gross than last year. For comparison, for 2021 it was PLN 2,800 gross, while for 2020 – PLN 2,500 gross.

Special award for Biedronka employees

“The award was granted to employees of the Biedronka chain both in stores and in distribution centers and offices, working in non-managerial positions” – we read in the release. There are several conditions.

The press office of the Biedronka chain explained that employees who started work under an employment contract no later than April 1, 2022 and were employed on April 1, 2023 are entitled to receive the award. “In addition, all their absences in 2022 may not exceed 180 days” – it was noted.

In turn, part-time employees “who met the conditions for granting the award will receive an amount proportional to the working time”.

Salary increases for trade employees

Other large retail chains have announced increases in employee salaries since the beginning of 2023. Lidl Poland announced that this year it will spend over PLN 230 million on wage increases.

According to the company’s announcement, from January 2023, store employees earn from PLN 4,200 gross to PLN 5,150 gross at the beginning of employment. “Just after one year of work, the employer guarantees an increase in salary to the level of – PLN 4,400 gross to PLN 5,350 gross, and after two years of work experience, from PLN 4,600 gross to PLN 5,600 gross” – we could read in the communiqué. Warehouse workers and store managers are also expected to earn more.

Business Kaufland Poland in mid-November last year, it announced that it would raise salaries for sales and logistics employees “in selected positions” from January 2023. According to the announcement, from Jan. people starting work as a cashier-seller, depending on the location, can count on a gross salary of PLN 4,200-4,800. “After a year of work, they will receive a salary of PLN 4,400-5,000 gross” – we could read in the release.

According to the network’s announcements, after the changes, employees in distribution centers as goods release warehousemen, depending on their experience, receive a gross salary of PLN 4,300-4,800.

In turn, the network Aldi Poland reported that the earnings of employees in stores since the beginning of this year in the position of a novice seller range from PLN 3,710 to PLN 4,210. “After three years of work, the seller can count on remuneration from PLN 4,010 to PLN 4,610” – the release stated.

As reported by the network, for the position of a store manager, the rates range from PLN 5,910 to PLN 6,810 for a novice employee and from PLN 6,810 to PLN 7,710 for a store manager after three years of work. “A beginner warehouse worker can count on a salary of PLN 4,160, and a warehouse worker after three years of work – PLN 4,860” – added.

Network press office Ladybird reminded in Tuesday’s announcement that from January 1 this year. over 60 thousand employees of the network’s stores and distribution centers received raises, for which the company spent over half a billion zlotys annually. “The increase in salaries for basic positions ranged from approx. PLN 500 to PLN 700 gross” – it was indicated.
