Biedronka, Lidl, Carrefour. Holiday bonuses for employees

Employees of Biedronka, Lidl and Carrefour will receive special bonuses from their employers at the end of the year. Employees of these chains will be able to count on Christmas packages for themselves and their children, as well as gift vouchers.

Biedronka gives vouchers and packages

As written in Biedronka's announcement, “this year the company has prepared a record number of 165,360 parcels, including 84,700 thousand for employees and 80,660 thousand for children“. “In total, the largest retail chain in the country will spend over PLN 106 million on Christmas packages, which additionally include Christmas and New Year's parties,” we read.

Biedronka announced that the Christmas package includes, among others: from a Christmas package for the employee and his children. “The company is preparing 4 types of packages for children depending on age (0-2 years, 3-6 years, 7-10 years and 11-18 years). In addition to packages, as part of the Christmas package, employees receive employee e-codes with which they can pay for purchases at Biedronka or Hebe,” the chain said.

“The amounts of the fourth e-code top-up this year vary depending on the income threshold and range from PLN 590 to PLN 650. The company has allocated over PLN 51 million for the Christmas, the highest e-code top-up this year,” the company said in the release.

Lidl offers discount coupons

According to the Lidl store chain, in December each employee will receive a Christmas gift, the total value of which was over PLN 832,300.

“In addition, the chain once again invited its employees to take part in the next edition of the great promotional campaign of the Lidl Plus application, under which they received discount coupons worth a total of PLN 1,000 for purchases in the chain's stores. The promotion is addressed to employees and associates of Lidl Polska, as well as people employed by some contractors,” we read in the announcement.

Children of Lidl employees will also receive Christmas gifts. “This year, the chain ordered a total of approximately 22,700 packages for children, worth over PLN 4,820,000. All employees' children under 13 years of age will receive gifts. The packages are differentiated depending on the age of the recipients: there are 4 types of packages, taking into account the different needs and preferences of children. The packages will include, among others: interactive whiteboard, wooden puzzles and games. Older children can also expect sweets,” Lidl Polska informed.

Carrefour will award vouchers

In response to questions from the business editorial staff of the tvn24.pl portal, the Carrefour Polska chain emphasized that it has a “long-standing tradition of giving employees Christmas vouchers.”

“Recently we provide this addition in the form of prepaid gift cards to be used in our stores throughout Poland. The benefit is financed from the Company's Social Benefits Fund,” the network informed.

“It is worth emphasizing that purchases made by our employees with a prepaid Christmas gift card are combined with a permanent employee discount of up to 10 percent, which provides additional savings before Christmas. Additionally, our employees can take advantage of Christmas Gift Packages, which include discount coupons for purchases up to -10% in December and January and up to -20% on toys until the end of December,” the company said.

We also asked representatives of other retail chains about special bonuses for employees related to Christmas. We have not received a response by the time of publication.
