The Jeronimo Martins Group, the owner of, among others, Biedronka stores, had revenues of almost EUR 25.4 billion (approx. PLN 119 billion) throughout 2022, the parent company’s net profit amounted to EUR 590 million (approx. PLN 2.8 billion), the company said. in the report. This represents an increase in revenues by more than a fifth and profits by more than a quarter compared to 2021.

The group had in the fourth quarter of 2022 EUR 171 million of the parent company’s net profit, up 23.3% year on year more than last year. Revenue increased during this period by 23 percent to EUR 6.99 billion. The company’s EBITDA amounted to EUR 506 million, which means an increase of 14.8 percent. y/y

Throughout 2022, the group’s EBITDA increased by 17 percent year on year to EUR 1.85 billion with level revenue EUR 25.39 billion (21.5% increase). The net profit of the parent company amounted to EUR 590 million (an increase of 27.5%).

Biedronka’s EBITDA in 2022 amounted to EUR 1.54 billion compared to EUR 1.34 billion a year earlier. Revenues in PLN increased by 24.1%, and sales in EUR increased by 20.9%. yoy to EUR 17.6 billion. EBITDA margin decreased by 45 bps. to 8.8 percent

In Q4, Biedronka’s EBITDA margin was 8.7 percent. against 9.4 percent a year before.

The comparable sales of Biedronka in the fourth quarter increased by 23.4 percent. compared to an increase of 23.3 percent. in the third quarter of 2022. Throughout 2022, the LFL increase in Biedronka amounted to 20.6 percent.

The board of directors of Jeronimo Martins proposes that at dividend EUR 0.55 per share.

Raises and special rewards in chains

Biedronka announced that in April will pay employees a special bonus in the amount of PLN 3,750 gross. This is the highest prize value in the history of Biedronka.

Earlier, the Lidl, Kaufland and Aldi chains informed about the increase in employees’ salaries.
