The 35-year-old driver of a bus died in an accident that occurred in Bielany (Lubelskie). Two passengers with him also suffered bodily injuries. According to police findings, the man drove into the opposite lane, where he collided with a passenger car and a tanker.
The accident occurred on Wednesday (21 August) after 3 p.m. on provincial road number 812 in Bielany in the Biała Podlaska district.
According to the police's initial findings, the 35-year-old driver of the bus – probably due to not adjusting speed to traffic conditions – lost control of the vehicle and drove into the opposite lane. There, he collided sideways with a passenger car driven by a 72-year-old woman, and then hit head-on a tanker truck carrying diesel fuel driven by a 51-year-old man driving directly behind the passenger car.
According to the police, the drivers of the passenger car and the truck were sober.
The 35-year-old died at the scene. The man's body was secured for autopsy by the prosecutor's decision.
Two passengers riding with him were also injured, police said.
The police are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident and are appealing for safe driving.
