Yesterday, the Sanitary Inspectorate issued a warning about water in towns in the Bielsko district (Silesian province) that is not suitable for drinking. Today, it informs that the concentration of chlorine is such that the water can pose a threat to human health, even when inhaled – therefore, the room in which the water was poured, for example, should be well ventilated.
The District Sanitary Inspectorate in Bielsko-Biała informed on Tuesday about water in several towns in Bielsk County, which – due to the presence of Escherichia coli bacteria – is not suitable for drinking.

Inhaling chlorine is also dangerous.
“(…) during water sampling on 18/09/2024 from the water supply network in the contaminated area, a significant excess of free chlorine was detected,” we read in the release.
Sanitary Inspectorate warns that water with such a high concentration of chlorine may pose a threat to human health even in the event of contact with mucous membranes.
“It is also dangerous to inhale chlorine released from water – therefore, the room in which this water was poured, for example, should be well ventilated. This water is not suitable for consumption!” – the announcement reads.

The warning concerns water coming from the Water Treatment Plant in Dankowice at ul. Åšw. Wojciecha 3, which belongs to the Water and Sewage Plant in Wilamowice.
The Sanitary Inspectorate also states that the information concerns the following supply zone:
Dankowice: entire area;
Old Village: entire area;
Pisarzowice in the area: ul. Krajobrazowa ul. Na Skowronek ul. 3Owcza ul. Rolnicza ul. Starowiejska ul. Widokowa ul. 7. Zaciszna
Wilamowice for buildings located in the area of: ul. Ignacego Paderewskiego – for buildings above number 28 ul. Zaciszna
Jawiszowice for buildings located in the area:
Janowiec Street, Wiślana Street.
