A 41-year-old working on road construction placed boards on the tracks at a railway crossing in Bielsk Podlaski. This made it easier for him to get through there with the bulldozer. However, he did not have time to collect the boards before the train arrived. The case was investigated by the police.

It was an unusual report. On Thursday (June 13), before 7 a.m., the police received information that a construction company carrying out road construction work left construction materials on the tracks in Bielsk Podlaski, which were hit by a passing train from Białystok to Hajnówka.

– It took place at a railway crossing on the outskirts of the city. The report showed that no one was hurt – says Chief Commissioner Agnieszka Dąbrowska from the District Police Headquarters in Bielski Podlaski.

The train arrived

At the scene, the officers noticed a bulldozer at work. It turned out that the driver of this vehicle had placed boards on the tracks. He wanted to make it easier for himself to travel and not destroy the tracks.

– He said he wanted to take the boards, but he didn't make it before the train arrived – the policewoman notes.

Two thousand zloty fine

For causing a risk to road traffic, the 41-year-old was fined PLN 2,000.

The officers remind us that such behavior is irresponsible.

“Any obstacles on the tracks may lead to the derailment of the train with tragic consequences,” we read in the police statement.
