Over 100 people will travel 4,000 kilometers from Bielsko-Biała to Monte Carlo in small Fiats over 8 days. The initiative aims to raise funds for children who are victims of road accidents.

Last year, 12 Fiat 126p covered the distance from Bielsko-Biała to Turin, where the popular toddler comes from. The rally was organized by a group of 126Hooligans enthusiasts to remind about the 50th anniversary of the start of production of the car that motorized Poland.

The success of the Great Kids Expedition – as this event was called – prompted enthusiasts of small Fiats to repeat it in 2023. And so, over the next eight days, over a hundred people will cover a distance of 4,000 km in small Fiats. kilometers from Bielsko-Biała to Monte Carlo. Participants of the rally will drive their cars across seven countries.

– The world belongs to the brave, to those who break down barriers, and if it is done for a good purpose, only the imagination is a barrier – says the rally participant Rafał Sonik, winner of 9 World Cups and their 14-time medalist and winner of the Dakar Rally.

Other participants of this year’s edition of the event are also other icons of the Polish automotive industry, including Sobiesław Zasada, Longin Bielak, Rafał Sonik, Kajetan Kajetanowicz and Bartosz Ostalowski.

The latter is the only professional sports driver in the world who drives a car … with his foot. He lost both hands in a traffic accident in 2006. Ostalowski, due to his disability, will be driving a specially prepared “toddler” with an automatic gearbox, as it turned out, it will be the only such construction in the world.

One million zlotys for child victims of accidents

The Great Expedition of Kids is to draw attention to road safety, educate young generations in terms of conscious participation in road traffic, and support children who, as a result of road accidents they need a lot of support and care.

– Because we are going to Monte Carlo, which is associated with casinos, we will collect a million zlotys to help children. We are going to Monte Carlo for a million for children – says Rafał Sonik, winner of nine World Cups and their 14-time medalist and winner of the Dakar Rally.

– We left our children at home with their grandparents to help other children. And that was the main goal. I hope we’ll have fun along the way. I am an ambassador of many safety campaigns, but those related to children less often, so I am glad that I am together with Aneta [żoną – przyp. red] we can take part in it. Just got back from the Safari Rally and it wasn’t easy there either. There was a lot of dust and we were racing at very high altitudes. We managed to win, but who knows if this rally will not turn out to be an even greater challenge – says Kajetan Kajetanowicz, multiple world rally vice-champion, three-time European champion and four-time Polish champion.
