Six hours in the ambulance, six days in the ICU and Paweł is with the angels
He had lunch with his family on Sunday. In the evening he did a good deed. On Monday morning he went to work by train. He had a headache and the ambulance service took him from the bench at the station. They suspected an epilepsy attack. He waited six hours in the ambulance to be admitted to the hospital. Wet, no shoes or socks. 10 percent of these events are not due to alcohol. Paul was in the 10 percent. Six days later, he died in the hospital. He was 32 years old.
32-year-old Paweł waited six hours in an ambulance to be admitted to the provincial hospital in Bielsko-Biała.
– When it turned out in the evening that my son was operated on, in a critical condition, I thought that something was wrong and all the details and nuances need to be noted down – says Paweł’s mother.
Together with his daughter-in-law, they wrote down from their phones, what hours they talked with Paweł and the medics that day, and from memory – the content of these conversations. That is why they are able to recreate this day in such detail today.
– For me it is a significant day, very difficult, I remember it well – adds my mother.
The family notified the prosecutor’s office, which initiated an investigation into the immediate danger of Paweł’s loss of life by people who were under the obligation to care for the victim during the rescue operations undertaken in relation to the victim, which, in consequence, was to lead to his death on 5 December.
The head hurts somehow
On Monday morning, November 29, 2021, Paweł set off to work in Bielsko-Biała. For half a year he lived with his wife and daughter in the neighboring village of Kozy. They rented a house, at last they began to settle down into a housing situation, only the need to travel to work appeared.
He often traveled by train to avoid traffic jams, he was close to the station. That day he left home a little late, so his wife called him twice to ask if he was on time. As the man’s mother says, the spouses used to call each other dozens of times a day.
They talked at 6.49, then at 7.13. The second time, Paweł said he was on the train, but he was feeling unwell. He told his wife he was starting to have a headache, but somehow. and that when she gets off in Bielsko at 7.30, he will call her again or call an ambulance.

– The daughter-in-law did not hear him clearly, she thought that Paweł was losing range on the train. She also did not take his words to heart, because her son was returning to work after a two-week sick leave, was suffering from an infection, was taking an antibiotic and might have had some other symptoms. Everything was normal the day before. They were at my place, we went to my daughter’s, my daughter’s and son’s kids played together, we had dinner. On Sunday at 10 pm my son told me on the phone that he had done a good deed. They ordered a pizza for dinner and the courier spent him badly, 20 zlotys too much. His son called him to come for the money, because he would still be taken from his paycheck, says Paweł’s mother.
