Bill Cobbs died on June 25 at his home in California. He was 90 years old. Information about the actor's death was announced on social media by his relatives, and his representative, Chuck I. Jones, confirmed it in an interview with Deadline.

“We are saddened to announce the death of Bill Cobbs,” wrote the actor's brother, Thomas G. Cobbs, on Facebook. “Bill passed away peacefully at his home in California on Tuesday, June 25. A beloved partner, older brother, uncle, foster parent, godfather and friend, he recently celebrated his 90th birthday surrounded by loved ones. As a family, we find comfort in the fact that Bill has found eternal rest with your Heavenly Father. We ask for your prayers and support,” he said.

Bill Cobbs made his big screen debut in 1974 and has since appeared regularly in films and television series. He starred in the films “Silkwood”, “Change of Places”, “Bodyguard”, “Demolition Man”, “Night at the Museum”, “The Muppets”, “Oz: The Great and Powerful”.

In 2020, he appeared in the series “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” In the same year, he received a Daytime Emmy Award for his performance in the children's program “Dino Dana.” He also guest-starred in series such as “Walker, Texas Ranger” and “The Sopranos.”
