The accusation of not helping the injured was heard by a 47-year-old who hit a drunk pedestrian in Biszcza (Lubelskie) and drove away from the scene of the accident. A day later, the police tracked him down at a nearby recreation center. It turned out that the man was banned from driving for life. He was drunk at the time of his arrest.

According to the findings of the police so far, on Wednesday (November 17) at around 6 p.m. in Biszcza, a 67-year-old pedestrian was walking along the roadside and fell under the wheels of a bus. The pedestrian – according to the police – was drunk. He was injured and was hospitalized.

On the other hand, the bus driver, instead of helping the pedestrian, fled the scene.

– They found five men from the Mazowieckie voivodeship, aged 33 to 47. According to the officers, the men were employees of a company dealing with the renovation of one of the roads in the Biłgoraj poviat – says the policewoman.

The collected evidence allowed to establish that the vehicle was driven by a 47-year-old from the Pruszków poviat at the time of the accident. The man was presented with charges. Investigators accuse him, inter alia, of failure to provide assistance to a person in a position that poses an immediate risk of loss of life or serious damage to health.

It found that the 47-year-old had a lifetime ban on driving because he had been arrested several times in the past for drunk driving. At the time of his arrest, he had over 2.5 per mille of alcohol in his body.

– The prosecutor applied a preventive measure in the form of police supervision against him. The investigation is in progress – says Klimek.
