To minimize the risk of drowning, follow these safe bathing rules

1. Swim only in guarded areas, i.e. where there is a lifeguard. Signs and boards inform about this. 2. Observe the rules of the swimming pool where you are staying. 3. Follow the lifeguard’s remarks and recommendations. 4. Don’t jump hot into the water. Before entering the water, splash it on your chest, neck, groin and legs – you will avoid thermal shock, which our body does not like very much. 5. Do not jump into the water in unfamiliar places. This can result in death or disability. Head jumping is absolutely forbidden in such places. 6. Games in the water should be adapted to your swimming skills, excluding the risk and escalation of dangerous behavior (aggression, competition and pranks, e.g. “waterboarding”, pushing other people using the bathing pool into the water from the mattresses). 7. Remember that an air mattress is not intended for swimming in deep water, nor is an inflatable ring. 8. When bathing in swimming pools, pay attention to the people next to you. Someone may need your help. If you can help him, do so within your means. If you don’t feel up to it, let others know. 9. Do not swim on an empty stomach or immediately after a meal – increased metabolism weakens your body, cold water can lead to painful stomach cramps, which can lead to serious consequences. 10. Don’t overestimate your swimming skills. If you want to go on a longer swimming route, swim secured by a boat or at least in the company of one other person, or get a buoy on bibs. 11. Do not swim during a storm, fog (when visibility is below 50 m), when gusty wind blows. 12. Don’t swim where there is a lot of seaweed or where you know there are swirls or cold currents. 13. Do not sail on sections of shipping lanes and near water devices and structures.
